There are 420 softball playing schools across each of the GHSA’s eight classifications and of those programs, only four have not lost a game this season. Two of the programs are top-ranked teams in the respective classifications, while one undefeated team is unranked.

Top-ranked Buford is 16-0 overall and 9-0 through Region 8-6A and coming off 16-0 and 15-0 victories against Central Gwinnett. The Wolves will play on the road against Class 1A-3A Private No. 1 Wesleyan (16-1, 6-0) Wednesday. The Wolves have won 12 state championships and were the runners-up to East Coweta last season.

Another undefeated program is Class 4A No. 1 Eastside (15-0, 7-0), which is coming off a 13-1 victory against Lakeside-DeKalb. Eastside has won two state championships but not since back-to-back titles in 1998 and 1999. The Eagles will play at Seckinger on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Mount Vernon is ranked No. 2 in Class 1A-3A Private, is 15-0 and coming off a 9-1 victory against St. Francis Wednesday. The Mustangs (4-0), alongside top-ranked Wesleyan (6-0), are both unbeaten in Region 5-A-Division I play. Vernon will play St. Pius X on Tuesday.

The final unbeaten team is unranked Class 2A South Atlanta (8-0, 6-0), which beat Columbia 20-7 Tuesday and will travel to Salem Thursday.
