GHSA eSports preseason on the horizon; virtual chess to make its debut

The GHSA eSports season is just under a month away, but the preparation for the preseason is heating up and its worth looking at the schedule to see what it will look like.

The preseason begins on Sept. 10 and runs through Sept. 19 where a new-look group of eSports will take to the virtual fields with the addition of virtual chess into the GHSA eSports realm.Contests take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and begin at 4 p.m. each day throughout the season. League of Legends, Splatoon 3 and Chess play Tuesday. Super Smash Bros and NBA2K play Wednesday while Rocket League, Madden and Mario Kart 8 play Thursday.

The regular season begins Sept. 24 to begin an eight-week season which culminates with the playoffs on November 18 through the state championships at West Georgia in mid-December.
