North Gwinnett, Lee County defend Game Day cheerleading titles at Mercer

North Gwinnett finished ahead of runner-up South Forsyth to capture the Class 7A game day cheerleading state championship and successfully defend last years title as the second day of competition came to a close at Mercer University in Macon.
Defending champion Lee County captured the 5A-6A state championship ahead of runner-up Lanier. In the 3A/4A competition, Mary Persons won the title ahead of runner-up and defending champion Morgan County.
In the 1A-2A competition, Vidalia won the state championship and Commerce finished as runner up. On Friday, Mill Creek won the dance state championship after placing ahead of McDonough, Stilwell Arts, Tri-Cities, McIntosh and South Forsyth.
