The Cartersville baseball program continues to impress with its 20th victory Monday, beating Southeast Whitfield twice with both games finishing 15-0 in favor of the Purple Hurricanes.

In both shutout victories over Southeast Whitfield, Cartersville only allowed one hit on Monday, a dominant performance at the plate for the rotation. Both games finished in four innings due to a mercy rule.

Five different players took the mound for Cartersville in its dominant performance over the Raiders in the doubleheader.

Noah Elrod and Avery Shiflett were responsible for the first 15-0 victory as the two pitchers combined for nine strikeouts. In the second game of the day, Davis Waddell, Collier Jordan and Cole Crawford combined for a no-hitter in the second game as the three pitchers threw 11 strikeouts combined to go 2-0 on the day.

Waddell, a junior RHP for the Purple Hurricanes this season, accomplished a remarkable feat on Monday as the pitcher was able to throw six strikeouts in just two innings pitched. Waddell retired the side twice in two innings as he was a part of a Cartersville rotation that didnt allow a hit on the day.

Davis has worked very hard to earn innings on our team and has gotten better and better as the year has gone on, said Cartersville head baseball coach Kyle Tucker. It was great to see him have success on Monday. He is racking up offers as a tight end in football, but hes a good baseball player, too!

During Mondays games, Cameron Cochran was responsible for four RBIs including a home run as well as Juelz Pratts home run and three RBIs on three hits. Crawford hit four RBIs and David Vargas was responsible for three RBIs during the games against Southeast Whitfield.

The Purple Hurricanes are now 20-7 on the season and will be back in action today against Dalton before finishing the series against the Catamounts on Friday.
