In Class A-3A Private, a group of some of the best players in the state are making themselves known. Here are a few of the top performers from this year.

Devon Caldwell

Hebron Christian’s star running back is one of the top players in the class. The senior and Mercer commit has over 1,000 all-purpose yards through the first six games of the season. The engine of the 2024 championship team, Caldwell is once again leading the top-ranked squad in the class. His blend of physicality and speed creates mismatches few defenders can handle.

Jack Rhodes

One of the top receivers in the class, Rhodes brings size, speed, and a physical play style that will translate to the college level extremely well. With Aquinas, he is the leader of the offense, and his 806 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns are nearly double the next closest receiver on the team. His production accounts for nearly half of the team’s total receiving yards and 60 percent of its touchdown receptions. Currently committed to Virginia, his film shows he may be an even better player than his ranking suggests.

Blaise Thomas

Savannah Christian’s starting quarterback has developed into one of the top signal-callers in the class. He has completed 66 percent of his passes for 1,415 yards and 15 touchdowns, in addition to rushing for 583 yards and six scores. Thomas has been one of the most productive passers in the state over his three seasons, throwing for 4,211 yards and 38 touchdowns. This year, however, he’s showing a different side of his game, his 176.9 passing yards per game are over 40 more than his previous career high. In the run-heavy Raiders offense, he has shown the ability to make big throws when called upon.

Charlie Baxter

Christian Heritage’s Charlie Baxter is having an amazing freshman season. The 6-foot, 180-pound quarterback has been one of the most productive young players in the state. Through the air, he has thrown for 1,883 yards and 19 touchdowns, while also rushing for 115 yards and four more scores. He is one of the premier freshman quarterbacks in Georgia and will only continue to improve over the next four years.

Keyon Standifer

One of the premier receivers in the Class of 2027, Standifer has been dominant this season. The 5-11, 160-pound Georgia Tech commit has built on his 1,200-yard season from last year. Through eight games, he has caught 36 passes for 959 yards and 14 touchdowns, along with 208 rushing yards and five additional scores. Last week against Providence Christian, he had a game for the record books, catching seven passes for 210 yards and four touchdowns while adding another touchdown on the ground.
