The road towards the GHSA Fall Esports State Championships at the Bartow County Schools Esports Arena in Cartersville began Monday. The destination for each program is a berth in one of the eight semifinals, and four finals matches on December 13.

Over the next three weeks, teams will compete in League of Legends, Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart to whittle the fields from 64 teams to just four to fill the semifinals, which will take place in Cartersville before the championship matches.

North Gwinnett is the defending League of Legends champion while Lowndes returns to try for a second-straight Mario Kart title. Brookwood is the sitting Class 5A-6A Smash champion, East Forsyth will try to defend its 3A-4A Smash title and Mount Vernon wants another 1A-2A title.

The championships will be streamed live on the PlayVS YouTube channel. You can follow the links to see the past champions or checkout the full season schedule.
