Hebron Christian is on a quest to avenge its state title loss last year, and this season could not have started any better for the Lions.
They are 11-0, the best start to a season in school history, and are chasing the program's first title after some near-misses in recent history.
Hebron has been on the brink of a championship over the past two years, losing in the semifinals in 2023 and the finals in 2024. So far this season, the Lions have won seven games by three or more goals and havent had a match go to penalty kicks since their first two games.
In region play, it looks like Hart County will be the only team capable of challenging Hebron. The Bulldogs are 8-2 on the season and 2-0 in region play. They have won six straight games and are just two wins away from matching last years win total. The two teams will face off on April 1.
In the private classification, the Lions currently sit at the top of the rankings. They will be competing with Providence Christian, GAC, Atlanta International, and Savannah Country Day. Of the top five teams, only GAC and Atlanta International have won championships in the past five years, GAC claimed the 3A title in 2022, while Atlanta International won titles in 2022 and 2024.
The Hebron boys soccer team is part of a growing trend at the school, where sports programs are rapidly improving. During the current school year, Hebron sports teams have advanced to at least the second round in six sports. They finished as runners-up in both softball and girls basketball and won state championships in volleyball and football. Additionally, the girls soccer team is quickly making a name for itself in a loaded Class A-3A Private classification after starting the season 8-0. Meanwhile, the baseball team has shown steady improvement over the past few seasons and currently holds a respectable 10-7 record.
Around the state boys - Savannah Country Day soccer bounced back from its first loss of the season with two big wins over Toombs County and Hilton Head Prep Landmark Christian soccer remains perfect after a 3-0 win over Heritage-Conyers Whitefield Academy soccer rebounded from three straight losses with a 3-0 win over Paideia Calvary Day baseball split two games in Las Vegas, moving to 12-5 on the season.
