Pre-playoff Baseball Rankings

The final weekend of the regular season shifted the polls ahead of the postseason action that gets underway Tuesday, April 23. In Class 7A, last weeks top 6 remained the same, but Hillgrove moved up from No. 9 to No. 7 after toppling North Paulding for the Region 3 crown. Carrollton remained at No. 8 and Mill Creek debuted at No. 9 ahead of last weeks No. 10 Cherokee. In Class 6A, Tift County dropped two games to Class A Division II No. 1 ranked Schley County after wrapping up a top seed and slid one spot to No. 4. Etowah moved ahead of the Blue Devils to No. 3 after closing out the regular season with a stellar 12-game win-streak including last weeks win over Class 5A No. 1 Cartersville at LakePoint. Newnan moved up to No. 5 after Blessed Trinity dropped two of three games to Pope. The Titans fell to No. 6 and got the nod over Pope due to winning the region prior to its series defeat.

Class 5A shifted with Kell re-entering the poll at No. 10 on a seven-game win-streak and the Class 4A poll introduced Pace Academy at No. 10 for the first time this season. In Class 3A, Peach County replaced Savannah Christian after the Raiders fell to the No. 3 seed and Washington County moved up five spots to No. 5 in Class 2A.
