Social Circles Alana Ferguson has helped the Redskins get off to yet another dominant start this season.
The Redskins senior forward has scored 12 of the teams 24 goals through the first five games. She has found the net in every game so far and has accounted for at least half of the teams goals in four of five matches. She is already close to matching her career-high 19 goals from last season. At this point in the season, she has nine more goals than the next closest scorer on the team.
Another key to the Redskins success is junior goalkeeper Gentrie Mobley. Through the first five games, her and her backup, Kylah Head, have allowed only seven goals while making 37 saves, anchoring the defense and being a steady presence in the goal. Additional players contributing to the strong start include senior Faith Young and junior Taylor Bramlett, who have each scored three goals this season. Social Circle is aiming for a second straight trip to the state championship and hopes to secure its second title, with its first coming in 2022.
