Berrien has found their next head coach to lead the program as the Rebels named Jackson Dean the schools new head football coach last week.

Dean brings over 14 years of coaching experience to the position as he has had time coaching in multiple levels of the sport such as high school and college football.

The former offensive coordinator becomes the fourth head coach for the Rebels since 2017.

In his most recent position, Dean held multiple titles at Cook High School where he coached as both the teams offensive coordinator and an Assistant Head Coach.

A graduate of South Gwinnett High School, Dean has had plenty of experience coaching as he had made stops with his Alma mater for a season in 2010 before joining the Hillgrove staff in the following year. Dean also spent time at Lowndes from 2015-2016 before spending the following five seasons at East Coweta.

For the last two seasons, Dean has served as the offensive coordinator at Cook, helping the Hornets go 11-3 in 2023 including a Region 1-2A championship. The 2023 season for the Hornets also included the program's first semifinals trip since 2007. Though they were defeated by Rockmart, Dean helped put together a special season for the Hornets as they scored over 370 points on the season in 14 games.

Last season, the Hornets finished with a 3-8 record and extended their postseason streak to 25 seasons though they were eliminated in the first round by Burke County.

Dean looks to add a spark into the Berrien football program as the Rebels havent had a season with over 5 wins since 1994 and have one playoff appearance since 2017.
