The rankings stabilized a bit, in many classifications, through Week 5 where teams having played an average of 8-10 games and most are starting to show what kind of team they will be for the rest of the season.
Between both 5A and 6A, there was only one change -- 5A No. 5 and No. 6, McIntosh and Greenbrier, switched places after McIntoshs victory.
Harris County climbed to No. 6 in Class 4A.In Class 3A, two teams, Cherokee Bluff and Upson Lee, dropped out of the rankings, replaced by Long County at No. 8 and Northwest Whitfield at No. 10. In addition, the class has a new No. 1, with Dawson County taking over the top spot from Oconee County.
In Class 2A, No. 10 Sonoraville moved up to No. 7, while Drew Charter and Johnson-Augusta dropped to No. 10 and No. 9, respectively.Thomasville leaping from unranked to No. 5 after a 9-1 start, which included a win over Jeff Davis in Class A Division I. Additionally, Worth County made its debut at No. 10.
In Class A-Division II, Irwin County made major moves, climbing from No. 10 to No. 6 after staying undefeated at 8-0. Atkinson County also made its debut at No. 10.For the first time this season, the new private classification had no changes, with all teams retaining their current rankings.
