One of the top players in not only the state of Georgia but the country in Benedictine 5-star edge rusher LaDamion Guyton has announced that he will reclassify to the Class of 2026 and forgo his senior season of high school football, according to On3.
It is unknown whether Guyton, a unanimous 5-star across all major recruiting platforms who committed to Texas Tech back in August, will enroll early in January or wait until next summer. Regardless, he will be a Red Raider sooner than people expected.
The edge rusher is a huge part of the Cadets defense and the team as a whole has totaled 39 tackles and nine tackles for loss in his lone season at Benedictine after transferring over from Savannah Christian.
While there is uncertainty as to when he will be on campus, one thing that is certain is that Texas Tech will be getting one of the top recruits in the country sooner than they believed as he gives an instant boost to an already loaded roster.
