Wolves celebrate homecoming with shutout performance

The football team celebrated homecoming by defeating Lakeview 38-0 on Sept. 26 behind 179 yards and four touchdowns from Kyle Karempelis. Last Friday, the Wolves defeated Social Circle 38-13. Karempelis rushed for 97 yards and two touchdowns. The Wolves host Prince Avenue Christian this Friday. … The softball team lost to No. 1 Buford 4-2 on Sept. 24. Paige Hamlin was 1-for-3 with a run. Last Tuesday, the girls defeated Mt. Pisgah 12-0 in the first round of the Region 7-A Tournament. Kennington Groff led the offense with a triple and two RBIs. Brittany Mitchell was the winning pitcher and struck out five. Last Thursday, the Lady Wolves lost to Eagle’s Landing 7-0. … The volleyball team defeated Peachtree Ridge, Collins Hill and Grayson in the Gwinnett County Tournament. On Sept. 27, the team defeated GAC, Parkview and Norcross to earn its second-straight Gwinnett County Tournament Championship. Last Thursday, the Lady Wolves defeated Woodward and Columbus. Anne Marie Armstrong had 44 kills and six blocks. … On Sept. 30, the boys cross country squad won the Wesleyan Invitational while the girls team finished in second place.
