Big second half led by ground attack from Tamburo and Dixon

The football team trailed Mill Creek 21-14 at the half on Sept. 26, but came back behind a huge second-half rally to win 40-24. Quarterback Michael Tamburo rushed for 126 yards and threw for 148. Cordero Dixon had four catches for 120 yards and two touchdowns. The Bulldogs were off last week, but will be back in action this Friday at home against Chattahoochee. … The softball team lost to Mill Creek on Sept. 24 by a score of 6-4, but defeated Duluth 8-2 on the following day. Kaitlyn Smith was 3-for-3 with a single, a double, and a triple. Kacey Martin doubled to drive in two runs, as the Bulldogs defeated Collins Hill 2-1 in eight innings last Thursday. … The boys cross country team finished second in the open race at the Wendy’s Invitational last Saturday. Michael Gualdoni led the team with a time of 16:42. The girls cross country team finished first in the Westover Invitational last Saturday. Nicole DiMercurio set a course record with a time of 18:17. … In the Gwinnett County Tournament, the volleyball team defeated Meadowcreek and Hebron, but lost to Parkview.
