The football team did not play last Friday and will open its season this week when the Blue Devils travel to Johns Creek to face the Northview Titans. The Titans opened their season last week with a one-sided loss to Centennial. This will be the only non-region game that the Blue Devils will play all year. … The volleyball team began the season Aug. 15 with a loss to Sequoyah. After that the Lady Devils rolled to a six-game winning streak in the following week starting, which included nice wins over Flowery Branch and Whitewater. Their luck soon ran out, however, as the team embarked on a six-game losing streak beginning on Aug. 21 against Pope and ending this past Thursday at Walton. The Lady Devils next game will be this Thursday against Starr’s Mill and Dutchtown. … The softball team currently holds a 2-2 record after beating Hiram and dropping a couple to Pace Academy and Riverwood in the Marietta Invitational. The Blue Devils are next in action on Wednesday in Douglasville, as they face the South Paulding Spartans.
