Broncos in line for No. 2 seed heading into Parkview game

The football team has started a new winning streak in Region 8-AAAAA play, winning against its last three opponents. The team survived a trip to Dacula on Oct. 24, as safety/wide receiver/kicker Wade Brogdon kicked two field goals and then intercepted a pass in the fourth quarter to force ovetime. Brodgon’s third field goal in overtime sealed a 9-6 victory for the Broncos. A Marvis Lane fumble led to Dacula tying the game with a touchdown, but the Broncos forced a missed extra point in the second half. Brice Smith had 50 yards rushing in the win. The team welcomed in South Gwinnett last Friday and, despite trailing 7-6 at the half, rallied behind Lane to a 21-7 victory. The team will wrap up the regular season this Friday when it hits the road to take on Parkview. … The boys basketball team has begun practicing with an eye on its first contest on Nov. 15. Head coach Scott Terry of the girls team says the team is coming off a strong summer and the team is looking for “several juniors and sophomores to step up and make contributions.”
