COACH’S JOURNAL: Junior Program important for future success

New Centennial football coach Jeffrey Carlberg is quickly putting his fingerprints all over the Knights program, and he has invited Score along for the ride during his first year at the helm. Here are highlights from last week.

Tuesday and Wednesday night the varsity staff met with out Junior Knights coaches to go over our offensive and defensive philosophies. We spent a little over two hours each night with the Junior staff, well over 20 coaches each night. I was very impressed with the interest level and dedication put in by our Junior Program. Both nights were very informative opportunities for us to develop relationships with one another by talking football. Personally, I am really excited to have each of them in our program.

We are wrapping up our pre-spring break portion of the program. Our speed and conditioning program has gone well as has our strength program. When we come back from spring break, we will only have two and one half weeks until spring practice begins. In the meantime, we have two major functions on the Saturdays following spring break. On April 14, we will have late registration and equipment distribution day. The following Saturday we will have our physicals at North Fulton Hospital.
