Offense impressive in spring scrimmage

New Centennial football coach Jeffrey Carlberg is quickly putting his fingerprints all over the Knights program, and he has invited Score along for the ride during his first year at the helm. Here are highlights from last week.

Spring practice came to a close last Thursday with our intra-squad scrimmage. The action was intense and ended in a 24-24 tie. Our offense had its best showing of the spring as Chase Rosenberg passed for a pair of scores and Christian Glynn and Michael Lopez each hauled in five receptions. These players should lead the offense as the team gets more and more comfortable in the new spread base.

The defense was led by Ryan Bennett’s playmaking and Arnold Johnson’s interception. There was much progress made during the spring by both units.

Saturday was an incredibly busy day at Centennial. We had our Blitz Day to end our discount card sale fundraiser and over 30 players went out into the community to raise money for the program. The Junior Knights program also hosted its annual jamboree. The event featured scrimmages for Centennial’s sixth, seventh and eighth grade teams against teams from Alpharetta, Creekview and Cambridge.
