Eagles dominate Raiders; softball wins two

The football team soared on Friday night, beating Alpharetta 42-13. With the win, the Eagles improved their record to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in Region 6-AAAAA play. Tailback Toney Williams rushed for 250 yards on 24 carries. In four games this season, he has racked up 916 yards and 10 touchdowns. The defense proved to be a formidable opponent for the Raiders offense.  The Raiders were able to muster 26 yards on the ground all night due to strong play on the line by Andrew Quinlan, linebacker Jeremy Grable and safety Joe Kizer. … In softball, Milton beat Roswell 5-0 on Tuesday. Taylour Disch had 11 strikeouts, Ashley Walker was 2-for-4 with one RBI, Ashley Canara was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Lillie Palmer hit a two-run homer, and Kelly Texter went 2-for-2. The team finished a strong week of play by beating Centennial on Thursday 3-1. In other team-related news, senior Ashley Canara has committed to play with University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. … The volleyball team beat Roswell 2-0 on Tuesday, but lost to Pope 2-0 and Kennesaw Mountain 2-0 on Thursday.
