In Class AAAAAA, Douglas County dropped five slots to No. 8 after losing to Hughes 52-50. Hughes came in at No. 9 after the win. North Forsyth suffered its first loss of the season in a 50-49 defeat to St. Francis and slid to No. 6 as a result. In Class AAAAA, No. 6 Forest Park edged No. 2 Tucker 45-43 last week. As a result, 14-3 Tucker moved down to No. 3 and Forest Park moved up to No. 4.
All 10 ranked teams in Class AAAA won last week and the poll stayed the same with Redan, Cross Creek and Columbia making up the top three. There was not a lot of movement in Class AAA, but No. 8 Tattnall County topped No. 5 Beach 57-55 last week and the teams traded places in this week’s poll with Tattnall County moving into the top five.
In Class AA, last week’s No. 6 Bleckley County lost 64-40 to West Laurens and No. 7 Putnam County fell to First Presbyterian Day 52-48. Both teams dropped one spot in the poll. Re-entering the Class AA top 10 is Calhoun, which rebounded from a 51-36 loss to Armuchee with wins over Coosa (59-20) and Model (43-37).
Gordon Lee entered the top five in Class A after posting wins over Darlington, Trion and Mt. Zion last week. Paideia fell two spots to No. 9 after a 47-43 loss to Brookstone on Saturday.
