Glavine reportedly considering filing grievance; Dream win thriller in season opener

As Fox Saturday Baseball reported yesterday, former Brave Tom Glavine is considering filing a grievance against the club. According to initial reports and Ken Rosenthal’s latest article, Glavine’s agent has met with a labor representative to discuss their options in the wake of Glavine’s unceremonious dismissal from the club last Wednesday. Both the AJC’s Mark Bradley and Rosenthal conclude that Glavine doesn’t stand much of a chance to win a case should he pursue one.

Meanwhile, the Braves’ bats have gone ice cold in their home series against Milwaukee. They were shut out again last night as the Brewers won their second in a row against Atlanta. Sunday’s afternoon matchup, however, should bring some excitement to the table, as it’s Tommy Hanson’s first start for the major league club.

The Atlanta Dream got off to a great start to their season when the defeated the Indiana Fever in the home and season opener in double overtime, 87-86. New addition Chamique Holdsclaw, the former Tennesee Volunteer great who came out of retirement to play her ninth season in the league, dropped in 23 points for the Dream, who had to wait 18 games into the season in their inaugural campaign for a win.

Matt Ryan hosted 200 kids at his first annual football camp at Centennial High School this weekend. Check out some cool photos from the event here.
