Georgia running back Todd Gurley has been suspended indefinitely by the University for allegedly violating NCAA rules for profiting on signed memorabilia or his likeness being used.

“I’m obviously very disappointed,” said head coach Mark Richt. “The important thing for our team is to turn all our attention toward preparation for Missouri.”

The alleged violation has not been specified as of yet.

Gurley is considered to be one of the top Heisman Trophy contenders and has rushed for 773 yards and eight touchdowns this season. He is averaging 154.6 yards per game on the ground and 194.6 all-purpose yards, second in the NCAA. He has 3,147 rushing yards, which is third all time at UGA. He has scored 35 touchdowns at Georgia, third in school history behind Lars Tate and Herschel Walker.
