Indians defeat Wolverines for season’s first victory

Head football coach Kyle Hockman picked up his first win as leader of the Indians last Friday when McEachern beat Woodstock 17-14. Hockman, the former head coach at Campbell, saw his Indians improve to 1-2 on the season. They will try to reach the .500 mark on Friday when they travel to East Paulding. McEachern is 2-0 all time against East Paulding, with their last win coming in 1999. … The boys cross country team finished eighth in the Class 5A division of the Carrollton Invitational last Saturday. Andrew Kazemin (19:16.70) and Kevin Glenden (19:17.05) had the top times for the Indians as they came in 29th and 30th overall, respectively. For the girls, Pamela Ramos finished 20th in the Class 5A division with a time of 22:45.46. … The volleyball team compiled a 2-3 record in the Georgia Challenge, beating Riverwood and Cherokee but losing to Sprayberry, Northview and Jonesboro. Head coach Patty Craven’s team will raise money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation when they host the Play for the Cure on Thursday.
