Sky Zone Jump in to Give: Josh Fannin

The Mill Creek offensive line is very impressive, and it is led by Josh Fannin. He was a vital part of an offense that scored more than 30 points in all but one game this year. He works hard year round to improve his game, and he has already seen interest from more than 20 D-I schools including UGA, Clemson, South Carolina and Georgia Tech. One thing that really stands out about Fannin is the work he does away from the football field, which he takes very seriously.

Fannin is very passionate about community service and has helped Mill Creek in a variety of ways over the years.

“In my spare time I do try to give back as much as I can, especially when I can give some time to help with kids the way people were always willing to help me,” Fannin said.

One thing Fannin spends his time doing is helping at youth football camps. At those camps, Fannin helps by doing offensive line drills and teaching fundamentals to the kids. He helps kids of all ages, including the students in eighth grade getting prepared for high school. The time he puts in to help the students about to start their freshmen year will help Mill Creek continue to see success.

Football isn’t the only thing Fannin spends his time on though, as he is frequently involved with clubs around his school, specifically FCA and FBLA, and also volunteers at the Hamilton United Methodist Church. In addition to working with Hamilton’s Vacation Bible School, Fannin volunteers with his mother in the Helping Hawks Program.

“We volunteer our services for seniors, shut-ins, and people who need help with physical chores and things we usually take for granted,” Fannin explains.

His family has instilled the values to him, and his coach, Shannon Jarvis, shares the same values with the whole Mill Creek football team. “Coach Jarvis does a great job of keeping us focused and helping realize how blessed we really are.”
