Softball and football each perfect for Wolves last week

For the second year in a row, Buford wants to be known as the best team in the state. Last Friday, the defending Class 2A champs moved one step closer, coming out victorious over North Hall by a score of 45-14. Behind the solid quarterback play of Michael May, the Wolves built a 42-0 halftime lead against the Trojans. The Trojans (1-1) prevented the shutout with two late scores, although the game was never really in doubt. The 2-0 Wolves will defend Tom Riden Stadium this Friday against region foe Lovett, a team they have outscored 71-0 in their last two meetings. … The softball team (11-2) continued its hot start, as the Lady Wolves won all four of their games last week. In the Buford Invitational Softball tournament held last Saturday, the Lady Wolves beat Chestatee 15-0 and defeated Jefferson 8-0, extending Buford’s win streak to seven games. The team will face two regional foes in the upcoming week, first Avondale and then Greater Atlanta Christian, both coming on the road. … The volleyball team went 3-1 last week, bringing their record to 6-4. They will play four non-regional games this week.
