Lassiter snapped Kell’s regular season win streak of 28 games with a dominating defensive effort and 27-9 road victory Friday night. The rejuvenated Trojans boast an impressive 2-0 start this season (24-17 over Hillgrove last Friday) after a dreadful 2014 campaign where the defense gave up 47.1 points per game. This year’s Trojans defense held Kell to zero offensive points. Kell scored its nine points on a safety and an interception return for a touchdown by Solon Page III in the third quarter. Junior Mason Waters got the Lassiter offense going in the first half with a 20-yard touchdown run but it was a huge completion from Cooper Cross to Cole Taylor that kept Lassiter out in front. With the third quarter winding down, Cross hit Taylor for a 66-yard gain before the duo finished the drive off with a 12-yard touchdown. Cross found Cervantes Holt on the 2-point conversion and Lassiter took a 15-9 lead. Dorian McNeal ran in a Lassiter touchdown to build the lead to 21-9 and Kyle Syvarth iced the game with a 51-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Class AAAAAA

Harrison 35, Wheeler 7

How the game was won: Harrison led just 7-0 at halftime but erupted for four touchdowns in the second half to roll over visiting Wheeler. The Hoyas enjoyed a 28-point advantage going into the fourth quarter before Wheeler finally got on the scoreboard.

Top performers: Dexter Davis capped off the scoring with an interception return for a touchdown, thus snuffing out the Wildcats’ faint hopes of a comeback. … Harrison’s ground attack was led by Darius Clark (92 yards) and Harrison Frost (79 yards).

Campbell 38, Stone Mountain 8

How the game was won: Campbell led 19-2 and pulled away in the second half on the strength of four touchdowns by quarterback Jawan Nobles.

Top performers: Nobles rushed for a touchdown on a quarterback sneak and threw for three touchdowns, two to Ray Decosey and one to Trey Wilson. … Kahj Huitt and Hassan Graham also rushed for touchdowns for host Campbell.

Parkview 33, Mountain View 27

How the game was won: Mountain View cut the score to six points with a touchdown with 2:20 left, but Parkview was able to recover the ensuing onsides kick and run out the clock on offense. Deion Slade scored on a three-yard run in the fourth quarter to put Parkview up two scores.

Top performers: Parkview quarterback Jack Chambers rushed for touchdowns of 87, two and four yards and had a 49-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Fleetwood. Chambers finished 17-of-32 passing for 213 yards and rushed for 142 yards. … Fleetwood had five catches for 99 yards. … Parkview’s John Boyd had six catches for 82 yards. … Slade rushed for 75 yards. … Darrion Warner and Malik Washington each had interceptions for Parkview.

Norcross 17, Brookwood 13

How the game was won: Kendrew Wynn returned an interception 25 yards for a touchdown with 3:51 remaining in the game to give Norcross a thrilling win over host Brookwood. The Broncos, who trailed 10-0 after one quarter, appeared to have wrapped up a comeback win when they recovered a Norcross fumble with 4:01 left to play, but the interception was thrown just one play later.

Top performers: Norcross scored both of its touchdowns on defense. Prior to Wynn’s heroics, Monty Montgomery returned a fumble 45 yards to the endzone in the first quarter. … Jesse Brown rushed 22 times for 124 yards and scored Brookwood’s only touchdown. … The Broncos got field goals of 47 and 48 yards from Mitch Barry.

Walton 40, Marietta 0

How the game was won: Walton quarterback Addison Shoup completed 15-of-20 passes for 138 yards and a touchdown in the first half to give the host Raiders a 10-0 lead. Walton exploded for 30-second half points, including a touchdown run by University of Penn commit K.K. Brooks and a quarterback sneak by Shoup. Sam Letton hauled in a pair of receiving touchdowns and Joey Goodman blocked a Marietta punt that was recovered in the endzone by teammate Jason Rooks for the score.

Top Performers: Walton quarterback Addison Shoup threw two touchdown passes to Sam Letton and rushed for a score. …  K.K. Brooks rushed for a touchdown. … Walton’s Jason Rooks recovered a fumble for a touchdown.

Hillgrove 27, Shiloh 19

How the game was won: A Jaylen McCollough four-yard touchdown run with 6:44 remaining in the game turned out to be the game-winner.

Top performers: Hillgrove’s Bryson Parks completed 17-of-32 passes for 147 yards and one touchdown. …Parks also added 61 yards rushing on 16 carries while Jaylen McCollough totaled 60 yards on 11 carries. …Jeremiah Bridges caught six balls for 67 yards. …Chigoziem Okonkwo caught two passes for 41 yards and scored on a 35-yard pass at the 9:50 mark of the first quarter. …Mitchell Wasson tallied four catches for 125 yards and on score for Shiloh. …Zach Olivar finished 16-of-40 for 231 yards and two touchdowns to go along with one interception.

Alpharetta 24, Milton 21

How the game was won: Alpharetta’s Matthew Downing threw his third touchdown pass of the night, an eight-yard slant to Carlos Carriere, with just over two minutes to play to give the Raiders the lead. On the ensuing Milton possession, Alpharetta linebacker Reid Schulz had an interception to seal the win.

Top performers: Downing was 9-for-14 passing for 146 yards and touchdown passes to Carriere, Darryl Bivens and Nick Carlton. … Alpharetta’s Nolan Edmonds had 22 rushes for 127 yards to go with four catches for 73 yards. … Milton quarterback David Moore was 14-for-25 passing for 184 yards and a touchdown. … A.J. Beach had an 89-yard kickoff return for Milton in the third quarter to tie the game at 14-14.

East Coweta 35, Arabia Mountain 28

How the game was won: Devonte Brown scored on a 6-yard touchdown run to give East Coweta the lead over Arabia Mountain with 5:42 left in the fourth quarter. The scoring drive was made possible when quarterback Will LaGuardia threw a 39-yard pass to Nick Clarke.

Top performers: East Coweta’s LaGuardia completed seven passes for 137 yards and one touchdown. … East Coweta’s Devonte Brown rushed for 238 yards and four touchdowns. … East Coweta’s Clarke caught five passes for 89 yards and one touchdown.

Northview 28, Duluth 23

How the game was won: After Duluth pulled to within 28-23, Northview defensive back Kyler McMichael had an interception late in the fourth quarter, and the Titans ran out the clock for the win. Northview led 12-10 at halftime.

Top performers: Northview sophomore Emeka Nwanze scored three rushing touchdowns. … A.J. Green caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Paul Miller for Northview.

Mill Creek 51, West Forsyth 13

How the game was won: Mill Creek held West Forsyth scoreless in the second half after entering the break with just a 20-13 lead. Daniel Lecounte and Joe Thomas ran for a pair of touchdowns in the final two quarters to put the game out of reach.

Top performers: Cameron Turley connected with Braxton Richburg on an 81-yard touchdown pass to open the game. …Brenton King booted home three field goals. …Edmond Graham blocked an extra point. …Chase Turner returned an interception for a touchdown.

Central Gwinnett 35, Collins Hill 29

How the game was won: Host Central Gwinnett forced five Collins Hill turnovers and took a 21-13 lead after Micah Maxey tossed a touchdown pass to Major Bellamy with seven seconds left before the half. Collins Hill added a field goal in the third quarter and punched in a touchdown with 9:38 left to take a 22-21 lead. Maxey found Bellamy for another long touchdown pass and the Knights extended the lead to 35-22 before Collins Hill’s Monty Horn tossed his second touchdown pass to Justin Macaulay to make it 35-29 with only 48 seconds left. Central Gwinnett forced five turnovers.

Top Performers: Central Gwinnett quarterback Micah Moxey threw four touchdown passes, including three to Major Bellamy. … Central Gwinnett’s Nigel Adams intercepted three balls in the first half. … Collins Hill quarterback Monty Horn threw two touchdown passes to Justin Macaulay.

Grayson 34, Gainesville 0

How the game was won: Visiting Grayson took a 6-0 lead after sophomore Will Van Pamelen connected on field goals of 38 and 47 yards in the opening quarter. Cameryn Brent added two rushing touchdowns and Denzel Wright scored on a 21-yard interception return for a touchdown with 2:36 left in the half. Grayson’s last touchdown came on an 80-yard touchdown pass from Chase Brice to Evan Sturgill.

Top Performers: Grayson’s sophomore kicker Will Van Pamelen went 2-2 on field goal attempts in the first quarter, including a 47-yarder. … Grayson’s defense held Gainesville to 60 total yards of offense in the first half. … Grayson running back Cameryn Brent finished with two touchdowns and accounted for 126 of the Rams’ 146 first half rushing yards. … Evan Sturgill caught an 80-yard touchdown from Chase Brice.

Etowah 49, Sequoyah 7

How the game was won: Etowah took care of business on the road thanks to a 21-0 first quarter lead which featured a touchdown run from Tyray Devezin and two scoring passes from the arm of Patrick Ferris.

Top performers: Tyray Devezin ran for 105 yards on 10 carries and a touchdown. …Patrick Ferris completed 7-of-8 passes for 91 yards and three touchdowns while adding one rushing touchdown. …Bronson Rechsteiner caught a 25-yard touchdown pass and added an 85-yard kick return for a score.

Newnan 34, Carrollton 13

How the game was won: After a scoreless opening quarter, host Newnan opened the second quarter with a 4-yard touchdown pass from Chancellor Johnson to Marquis Hill. Carrollton answered with a DeMarcus Mitchell touchdown run but the kick failed and the Trojans still trailed 7-6. Darryel Hines helped Newnan regain control with a 4-yard rushing touchdown with 3:41 left in the half but the Cougars missed the point after and the lead remained 13-6. Hill scored on a keeper to increase the lead to 20-6 and on the final play of the half, Carrollton’s Jaylan Thomas scored on a 60-yard run. Hill responded with a 42-yard Newnan touchdown run to open the second half and Hines iced the game with 9:28 left in the final quarter with a 5-yard run that capped off a 10-play 96-yard Cougars drive.

Top Performers: Chancellor Johnson led Newnan with a game-high 116 yards passing and one touchdown off of 13-of-19 passing. … Marquis Hill took 13 carries for 122 yards and two touchdowns and his Newnan teammate Darryel Hines added 77 rushing yards and a pair of scores off of 21 carries. … Carrollton’s Jaylan Thomas finished with a team-high 90 rushing yards and a touchdown and DeMarcus Mitchell took 15 carries for 77 yards and a touchdown.

Drew 46, Fayette County 21

How the game was won: Quarderman Sloan broke the game open in the second quarter with two rushing touchdowns for Drew.

Top performers: Sloan finished with three rushing touchdowns. …Drew quarterback Joseph Newman threw for two touchdowns and ran for two touchdowns. …Bryson Duckworth added a receiving touchdown of his own.

Carver-Atlanta 48, Washington 6

How the game was won: Carver-Atlanta did most of its scoring in the first half to overwhelm Washington early and often en route to a 46-0 home victory. The Panthers used a dominant defense and punishing ground game to subdue the visitors. They scored five rushing touchdowns, which were scored by four different players.

Top performers: Gregory Payton rushed for 63 yards and two scores to lead Carver-Atlanta. … Nile Rhodes, Quentin Gates and Timsonte Dukes also found the endzone on the ground. … Quentavius Monday hauled in touchdown passes from Kentrell Barber and Octavious Battle.

Warner Robins 44, Peach County 34

How the game was won: The Trojans of Peach County scored three first quarter touchdowns, led by Tyrique McGhee. Warner Robins’ offense struggled in the opening quarter leading to a fumble and a bad snap on a punt attempt. However, the Demons would respond in the second quarter scoring four unanswered touchdowns to swing the momentum in their favor entering the second half.

How the game was won: The play of the game came with 20 seconds left in the first half as Jones County’s Bradley Hunnicutt connected with Shareez Hamm for a 72 yard touchdown to push the lead to 21-7.  The Greyhounds avoided a fourth quarter scare as Morgan County’s Malik Chapman trimmed the lead to a single touchdown with a 14 yard pass making the score 21-14 early in the quarter. Jones County’s Hamm added a 9-yard touchdown reception to put away the game.

Jonesboro 17, Sandy Creek 15

How the game was won: Jonesboro outscored host Sandy Creek 14-0 in the fourth quarter for a stunning come-from-behind victory. The Cardinals trailed 13-0 early and 13-3 at halftime before awaking in crunch time.

Top performers: Each of the Cardinals’ two touchdowns came in the form of passes from Zerrick Cooper to Jordan Griffin. After connecting early in the fourth, the pair hooked up again from 23 yards out with 53 seconds left for the clinching score. Jonesboro’s game-winning drive was kept alive when the visitors benefited from a pass-interference call after an incomplete pass on fourth down.

Mt. Zion Jonesboro 27, Morrow 8

How the game was won: With Mt. Zion Jonesboro leading 16-8, running back Tavion Copeland scored on a 69-yard touchdown run and an 8-yard touchdown run in the third quarter to help the team pull away.

Top performers: Tavion Copeland finished with 160 yards rushing on eight carries and a pair of touchdowns. …Tavion’s younger brother Lenox had a receiving touchdown. …Mt. Zion kicker Juan Martinez connected on field goals of 38 and 21 yards. …Jamal Michael led the Mt. Zion defense with three sacks and 11 tackles, six of those for loss. …Roman Victor also had a strong game on defense for Mt. Zion with two sacks and nine tackles, including four for loss.

Locust Grove 37, Ola 20

How the game was won: Caleb Huntley broke a 14-14 tie in the third quarter with touchdown runs of 65 and 10 yards to seal the victory for Locust Grove.

Top performers: Huntley finished with 160 yards on 11 carries. …Locust Grove quarterback Cameron Maddox went 8-of-14 with 148 passing yards with a touchdown and an interception. He also rushed 13 times for 49 yards and two touchdowns.

Lithonia 54, Clarkston 6

How the game was won: Ty’Heem Freeman opened the game with a 95-yard kick return for a touchdown to give Lithonia a 7-0 lead. Later in the quarter, Malachi Jenkins returned a 31-yard interception for a touchdown. Those scores accounted for 14 of the 41 points Lithonia racked up in the first quarter.

Top performers: Lithonia quarterback Robert Hatchet III completed six passes for 161 yards and three touchdowns. … Lithonia running back Kamarie Mullins had 60 rushing yards and two touchdowns. … Lithonia receiver Ty Patterson recorded 126 yards and three touchdowns.

How the game was won: Cartersville scored four first half touchdowns to apply the pressure and Cass could not recover. Xavier Coaxum added the exclamation point with a 61 yard interception return late in the third quarter to put away the game.

How the game was won: Kobe Sandel scored on a 1-yard run with 4:33 left in the first quarter to give Woodward Academy the 7-0 lead. Two minutes later, Jeffery Hubbard intercepted a Decatur pass and returned it for a 26-yard touchdown to give Woodward the 14-0 lead.

Top performers: Woodward Academy’s Ryan Glover completed 14 passes for 154 yards and two touchdowns. … Woodward Academy’s Joshua Johnson caught four passes for 43 yards and one touchdown.

Buford 77, Berkmar 0

How the game was won: The Wolves scored 28 first quarter points highlighted by two Martin Mangram touchdowns. Buford led 56-0 at the half but only gained 230 yards of total offense on the night.

How the game was won: After a back and forth struggle, Jefferson’s Bryce Moore hit Colby Wood on a 20-yard touchdown pass with 2:01 remaining in the third quarter to give the Dragons a 20-17 advantage. From that point on in the game, the Dragons held the Bulldoggs to just 18 yards of total offense.

Top performers: Sophomore Colby Wood powered the Dragons with 239 yards on 31 carries and four touchdowns. Wood also caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from Bryce Moore. …Cece Green carried the load for Winder-Barrow with 154 yards and one score coming off 20 carries. …Green’s touchdown came on a 55-yard burst that gave the Doggs a 17-14 lead.

Calhoun 28, Dalton 7

How the game was won: After a sloppy first half which featured three turnovers by each team, the Calhoun defense locked down Dalton and did not allowed a second half first down.

Top performers: Mercer-commit Kaelan Riley scored three times for the Yellowjackets, completing a four-yard touchdown pass to Jarrett Carden and adding rushing touchdowns of nine and two yards. …Olico Dennis scored on an 11-yard run with 5:24 left in the third quarter. …Dalton’s lone score came on a Jase Chastain touchdown pass to Kyric McGowen from 13 yards out. … Maddux Houghton picked off a pair of passes for the Catamounts.

Wesleyan 49, East Hall 6

How the game was won: The Wolves finished with 465 yards of total offense and cruised to an insurmountable 35-0 halftime lead. Wesleyan’s defense forced four turnovers.

Top performer: Banks Ramsey completed 18-of-22 passes for 197 yards and one touchdown while adding a rushing score as well. …Tucker Cannon caught nine passes for 131 yards and one touchdown. …Jordan Argilagos scored on runs of four and 24 yards and finished with 80 yards on nine carries. …Drew Aspinwall recorded 12 tackles for the Wolves.

Pace Academy 34, Our Lady of Mercy 3

How the game was won: Pace Academy scored 34 unanswered points to cruise past host Our Lady of Mercy. The Bobcats led for no more than 10 seconds, as their first-quarter field goal led directly to a kickoff return for a touchdown by Pace Academy’s Deon Jackson. The Knights led 24-3 at halftime and 34-3 going into the fourth quarter.

Top performers: In addition to his kickoff return, Jackson hauled in a 66-yard touchdown pass from Gunnor Faulk with 27 seconds left in the opening half. … Jordan Payne returned an interception 60 yards to the endzone for the Knights second score. Payne capped off the scoring with a five-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter.

Fellowship Christian 28, Riverside Military

How the game was won: Fellowship Christian built on a 14-0 halftime lead when Andrew Minkert ran for a 17-yard touchdown at the 6:37 mark of the third quarter. The score put the Paladins up 21-0 and capped a 95-yard drive. It was Fellowship’s first win over Riverside Military in four tries.

Top performers: Drew Williamson rushed for two touchdowns in the first half, of 58 and six yards. … Andrew Johnson scored the game’s final touchdown with a three-yard run in the fourth quarter. … Jake Williamson was a perfect 4-for-4 on extra points.

North Cobb Christian 53, Cross Keys 0

How the game was won: North Cobb Christian surged to 32-0 lead at the end of the first quarter to pull away early from host Cross Keys. It was 46-0 at halftime and 53-0 by the end of the third quarter. The Eagles played with a short field the whole night while amassing 310 yards of total offense (191 rushing and 119 passing)

Top performers: David Brittingham rushed 10 times for 102 yards and four touchdowns to pace North Cobb Christian. … Starting quarterback Jalen Dampier threw a touchdown pass before being relieved by James Bitner when the game was out of reach. Bitner added two scoring strikes. … Shiheem Robinson, Jose Ortiz and Kyle Pierre had the Eagles’ three receiving touchdowns.
