The Lambert boys continued their dominance this week, adding three more emphatic wins to their perfect 11-0 start (over Chattahoochee 14-3, Johns Creek 16-3, Milton 12-1). No. 2 North Gwinnett topped a strong Mill Creek squad 18-10 and moved to 10-0, and No. 3 Centennial scored a 17-15 victory over Starr’s Mill and cruised past Peachtree Ridge 19-7. Defending state champion Lassiter is also heating up, serving Lovett its first loss of the season (10-6) and defeating Roswell 7-4. No. 5 Walton fell 11-6 to Westminster after defeating Cherokee 17-5, and No. 6 Johns Creek was one of top-ranked Lambert’s three victims this week (16-3). Grayson lost 14-12 to a 4-7 North Paulding team, but only dropped to No. 8. Unranked Pope beat North Paulding 17-7 earlier this season, but the Greyhounds’ current three-game losing streak wasn’t enough to replace the Rams in this week’s poll.

Class A-5A entered the week with two unbeaten teams, but No. 1 Lovett’s 10-6 loss to Lassiter and No. 9 Woodward Academy’s 10-5 loss to No. 6 Greater Atlanta Christian leave just Lambert and North Gwinnett unbeaten on the boys side. No. 5 Marist also held off Greater Atlanta Christian 13-12 in OT.
