Comets fall to 1-3 with home loss to Grayson

The  football team welcomed Grayson, as the Comets tried to even their record. The rivalry game was close early until cornerback Derrick Brown twisted a knee while covering a Ram receiver. The injury allowed a long touchdown catch and the Comets could not recover. Mike Polascik was 16-for-29 with 208 yards and a touchdown run. Aaron Jividen caught a touchdown pass from Polascik, but it wouldn’t be enough as the Comets fell 49-14. Several late turnovers were converted by Grayson for points to put the game away. … Senior Night was spoiled a bit for the softball team, as the Lady Comets lost 12-2 to Brookwood. Rachel Ludick managed to strike out two, but she surrendered seven hits and took the loss. Lizzi Perry had a hit and scored a run for the Lady Comets while Danyelle Wilson notched the other run. The team looked to rebound in the Brookwood Invitational, but fell to Norcross after registering just one hit in a 4-3 loss. … The volleyball team remained winless following a region loss to Dacula 25-16, 25-22.
