Eagles earn No. 2 seed, will host East Paulding in GPB/Score Atlanta Game of the Week

There may be a big advantage  in the way in which the football team has defeated its last two opponents. With two narrow victories, at least now nothing will surprise the Eagles in the playoffs. On Oct. 31, Milton’s patience was tested in a 26-21 win over Pope. Despite both teams being heavily penalized throughout the game, in the end, Milton prevailed and secured a spot in the playoffs. With star running back Toney Williams sitting out the game due to injury, the Eagles called on other players to step up against Kell last Friday. Taj Harris provided two touchdowns in a 14-7 win against the Longhorns. The team will face East Paulding at home on Friday in the first round of the playoffs. … The boys cross country team is returning to the state meet after qualifying third in the region. Tyler Tomy (16:50, 11th place) and senior co-captain Fraser Reade (17:04, 18th place) turned in the top times for the Eagles. In all, Milton qualified seven runners for the state meet: Tyler Tomy, Fraser Reade, Alex Salvaterria, Alex Keeter, Ryan Price, Seth Tomy, and Travis Turner. The Lady Eagles contended for a spot in the state meet, yet finished in fifth place, thus concluding their season.
