Hudson’s two scores propels Spartans to win over Lithonia

The woes continued for the football team, as it suffered a 41-0 loss to Forsyth Central on Oct. 31. Once the game started, the Bulldogs didn’t do them any favors; Forsyth Central was simply too physical. On offense and defense, the Spartans missed key assignments. North Springs’ inability to get penetration with the defensive line proved to be one of the main reasons Forsyth Central had so much success on offense. Redemption came on Nov. 7, however, when the Spartans salvaged a tough season with a 23-20 win over Lithonia in the last game of the year. On senior night, Ricky Lang and Derrick Bowdy stepped up the pressure on defense in their final game. Junior Kentavius Hudson added two rushing touchdowns. … On Nov. 1, the boys varsity cross country team competed in the Region 6-AAAA championships. Bishop Womack (19:09, 26th place) and Jake Desmond (19:13, 27th place) set the pace for North Springs providing the team’s top two finishes. Amanda Wolkin (23:49) and Stephanie Mendez (26:44) provided the top times for the girls team.
