Eagles lose to Our Lady of Mercy

The football team got itself into a shootout in a JV game against Our Lady of Mercy but once again came up on the short end, losing 55-33. The majority of the Eagles’ remaining games will be junior varsity matchups. Head coach Terence Lott feels his team has to work hard all year long in order to be successful. “Our goal is to build a solid foundation. We will have to work hard in the offseason as well as the season,” Lott said. … The volleyball team split matches on the same day, winning against Mt. Pisgah (2-0) and falling to Walker (2-1). They played at the Darlington Invitational this weekend. … It was Senior Night for the softball team and seniors Kiaira Cooper and Caitlin Hollenback were honored in their last home game. Unfortunately, they couldn’t turn that into a win against Walker and lost 5-4. … The girls cross country team had some success in the Marist Double Dip Invitational, placing 13th. Erin McAnally paved the way for the Lady Eagles, leading the team with a time of 21:49 (20th overall).
