Falcons drop second in a row, fall 30-13 to East Coweta

After suffering a disappointing loss to Creekside, the football team was looking to get its second win of the year as the Falcons went up against East Coweta last Friday. East Coweta drew first blood when Tay Willis scored on a 9-yard touchdown run. But the Falcons were able to answer back, as Jarvis Nolan returned the ensuing kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown. The Indians scored 14 unanswered points, however, and went on to win 30-13. The Falcons’ offense struggled all game long, gaining just 94 yards of total offense (84 of which were passing yards). The Falcons were also hurt by turnovers, throwing two interceptions and losing two fumbles (though the defense forced two picks and two fumbles as well). Pebblebrook will look to have a better offensive outing against Lovejoy on Friday. … The slow-pitch softball team lost to Walton last Monday 11-3 and then fell to Hillgrove 11-4 on the following day. In the game against Walton, the Falcons had trouble with Kaylee Maneri, who went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Against Hillgrove, Morgan Smith hit a three-run homer against the Falcons.
