ELITE JUNIOR: Caleb Martinez

Whitewater Football

Whitewater defensive lineman Caleb Martinez has helped lead the Wildcats to a 22-6 record since Caleb started playing for them in 2011. Last year, Whitewater was able to go undefeated on the road and made a strong push in the playoffs before falling to the eventual Class AAAAA state champion Gainesville in the state semifinals.

His effective play has not gone unnoticed and, in the summer of 2011, he was invited to the Future Stars Georgia-Florida game. After just one season of play he was invited to the Junior Rank All-American Diamond Bowl in December of 2010. It is still early in his junior year, and the recruitment process has not yet gotten too hectic. He has been contacted by schools, but right now his concern is football and academics. His impressive school work encouraged Whitewater to give him the school’s Academic Athlete Award for the 2012-2013 school year. His academic abilities were recognized nationally by the National Honor Society in 2013. After high school, he hopes to continue his education in college where he hopes to play football.

Caleb spends his downtime working on school work and giving back to his community. Each summer he has worked with Lisbon Baptist Church to help out in any way he can. In the summers of 2011 and 2012, he volunteered at his church’s Vacation Bible School in Fayetteville, Ga. This past summer, Caleb went on a Mission Trip with his church to Mississippi working with his youth group at Lisbon Baptist Church. In addition to all this great work, Caleb is continually giving back by helping with the children’s ministries at Lisbon Baptist Church. His work ethic and passion for helping those around him are indicators that Caleb has a very bright future.
