The class AA/A-Public top-ranked Coosa Eagles spent their Saturday at the Ed Hunt Volleyball Invitational Tournament in Darlington, and walked away as the victors of the Gold Bracket. During pool play the Eagles won three of their four matches, winning against Bremen (25-13,25-12), Christian Heritage (25-12, 20-25, 15-10) and Cedartown (25-5, 25-21) while dropping one lose to LaFayette (15-25, 21-25). Once Coosa advanced into tournament play, the Eagles were flawless through three games defeating Christian Heritage (25-9, 25-22), LaFayette (15-25, 25-22, 15-12) and Haritage-Newnan (14-25, 25-20, 15-11) to win the championship. Leading the team in kills was senior Kasey Thacker with 75. She also racked up 4 aces, 12 blocks and 43 digs during her stellar outing. Senior Jordan Roberts also contributed heavily during the tournament, totaling 48 kills, a team high 12 aces, 8 blocks and 27 digs.
