Firebird offers family-friendly environment, eclectic menu

If you’ve ever driven down Ashford-Dunwoody Road or been around the Perimeter Mall area, you know there’s no lack of dining establishments in that part of town. With a deluge of chain restaurants and smoky bars surrounding it, Firebird Rotisserie & Sports provides an experience outside of the norm. Soon to celebrate its one-year anniversary, the “Bird” is easy to find, located at 4719 Ashford-Dunwoody Road in the Wal-Mart shopping center.

Take one step into Firebird and you’ll see a sports fan’s necessities. It has a full bar with a variety of brews on draft, televisions all over the place (30 plasma TVs) with multiple sports packages, an aesthetically pleasing bar, and kind employees to greet you at the door. You get a cozy feeling in this family-owned eatery with the menu serving up great food that is easy on the wallet. The rotisserie chicken both pulled and on the bone is a big seller, as well as the St. Louis-style ribs. There’s truly something on the menu for everyone. The Firebird also provides a place where sports-fanatic fathers (yes, me) can bring their children to eat and keep them entertained. Each booth in the restaurant has an LCD television, so kids can watch TV while Mom and Dad unwind after a long day. Open until 4 a.m. with the kitchen staying open almost as long, Firebird is also an option for late-night eats.

The crown jewel of the Firebird is its stunning patio, which is available for reservation for your next big game-watching party. The heated patio is big and spacious, complete with a fireplace and a 90-inch projection television for all the big games. Don’t be surprised if you run into a few Oklahoma State supporters, as that school’s Atlanta alumni call the Firebird home. The Firebird also has entertainment during the week, ranging from trivia to live music on the weekends. I suggest you stop by Firebird Rotisserie & Sports and see what’s good!
