Football falls to Lovejoy; volleyball in county tournament

The football team continued its losing streak this past Friday, falling 24-10 against Lovejoy.  Next week the Falcons will host region opponent Chapel Hill. Pebblebrook has won all four meetings between the two schools since 2002, most recently in a shutout last year. The football team welcomes Chapel Hill this Friday for a 7:30 p.m. contest. … The volleyball team will join the Cobb County Tournament Thursday, as it prepares to take on Sprayberry, Harrison and Kell. The Sprayberry Yellow Jackets have had a good season thus far, posting a 16-7 record. This will be the first time the two teams have met since last year’s Sprayberry victory. The Lady Falcons’ match against Harrision will be the first time the two teams have met since 2005. In their final match of the day against Kell, they will face a team with an impressive 25-7 overall record. Pebblebrook hasn’t faced a Kell team since ’05, when the Longhorns came out on top. The team’s next upcoming regular-season match is scheduled for next Tuesday against Marietta and will take place at East Paulding High School.
