Forsyth teams rise in AAAAAA softball rankings

Brookwood won three games last week by a combined score of 18-0, leaving it poised to reach the top spot in Class AAAAAA after No. 1 Lassiter lost to Pope. The Broncos, however, suffered a 7-1 loss to Lambert on Monday and remain at No. 3 behind Lassiter and Collins Hill.

Lambert’s win over Brookwood was its fifth in a row and the team is up to fifth in the Class AAAAAA rankings. The Longhorns have won 13 of their last 14 contests, with the only loss in the current stretch coming to South Forsyth. Not coincidentally, South Forsyth is also on the move. The War Eagles climbed two positions from ninth to seventh.

North Cobb is a new arrival in the top 10 of the highest classification after going 5-0 last week with a victory over Kennesaw Mountain. In Class AAAA, Clinch County is making its first appearance right on the cut line. Bacon County surged into the Class AA rankings in eighth following defeats of Bryan County and Long County. Calvary Day and Wilcox County broke into the Class A-Private and Public top 10, respectively.

You still have Alatoona in AAAAA rankings after 10 losses & finishing 3rd in their own region behind Chapel Hill who they split with on the season & Alexander who beat them twice (this last one was at Allatoona and Alexander run ruled them)? Please do some research when attempting these rankings to make them credible! Chapel Hill is 24 & 4, 11th in Maxpreps & Heritage-Conyers is 22 & 5, 14th in Maxpreps. Either HS would’ve been a better choice to be in the top ten over Allatoona whose 18 &10, 17th in Maxpreps.
