Gardner out for remainder of year

Senior offensive tackle Andrew Gardner, an All-ACC first team selection in 2007, has decided to have surgery on his left shoulder and will miss the remainder of the season. The decision will not only be a huge loss for Tech, but it ends the nation’s longest current streak of consecutive starts at 48 games. Gardner has played with a torn labrum this season. The condition worsened Oct. 25 vs. Virginia.
