The ACC led the state with the most recruits committing to teams in the conference. In total, over 60 players (9.28%) from the state committed to continue their athletic career playing in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Leading the charge for the ACC was one of the top players in the state, 5-star linebacker Sammy Brown as he is headed to Clemson and is ranked in the top-15 best players in the 2024 recruiting cycle by 247Sports. Brown played on both sides of the ball for the Jefferson football program, totaling over 2200 yards of total offense and over 150 tackles on defense in his senior year as a Dragon.

Rounding out the top conferences where 2024 commits ended up included NJCAA Independent with over 50 commits (8.41%), Sun Belt with over 50 as well (7.83%) and Conference USA with over 40 (6.38%). While many notable players such as Bolden, Matthews and Alabama-commit, Carrollton tight end, Caleb Odom, will be attending prestigious SEC schools, around 40 (6.09%) players from the state will be attending a school in the Southeastern Conference.

By school, Colquitt County finished with the most commits from one school with around 15 players committed to play at the next level. Most notable from the Packers signing day was Florida State commit, tight end Landen Thomas. Thomas is ranked as the no. 11 tight end in the country according to 247Sports and is ranked as a 4-star on their site as well. Thomas had offers from multiple big programs such as Georgia, Alabama and Auburn but ultimately stuck with the Seminoles. Archer, Brookwood and South Gwinnett were in second place with over 10 recruits committed from each school.

These commitments will look to make a name for themselves on their new teams in the fall of 2024.
