Grey Knights fall to Golden Lions, 28-7

The football team lost its last two games, the first to Carver-Atlanta 27-0 on Oct. 18 and the second last weekend to St. Pius X, 28-7. With the loss to St. Pius, the Knights dropped to 5-3 on the season and 2-3 in Region 5B-AAA. Grady faces a must-win game against North Atlanta this Friday to qualify for the region playoff, which is essentially a play-in game for the state playoffs. After falling behind 21-0 at halftime to the Golden Lions, quarterback Treveon Albert replaced usual starter Damian Swann and led the team on a touchdown drive. After completing four of six passes for 35 yards, Albert scored the Knights’ lone touchdown on a 1-yard sneak. The team hosts North Atlanta Saturday at 4 p.m. …  Grady finished second in the Atlanta Public Schools Championship and was paced by Elshaddai Hailegiorgis, who finished seventh, and Holden Choi, who finished eighth. The girls finished second at the same meet and were led by Kelsey Roth, who finished fourth overall. The teams will compete in the Region 5-AAA Championship meet on Saturday at Mercer University.
