JR Harris Picked Up Offer From Appalachian State

JR Harris picked up his first D1 offer from Appalachian State after an impressive freshman season. Harris competed and won the starting job in camp coming into his freshman year. Harris also made history by leading Central-Carrollton to its best season since 1986 after going 12-1 and making it to the quarterfinals. It was the Lions’ first undefeated season since they were state champions in the same year. Harris led Central-Carrollton to their first region title since 2014.

As a freshman, he threw for 1,855 yards and 20 touchdowns. His best game came against Heritage in the final game of the regular season. In that game, he threw for 249 yards and three touchdowns on an 80% completion percentage. On the ground, he also ran for 529 yards and seven touchdowns.

He is known for his dual-threat ability and quick processing prowess at the quarterback position. Harris is extremely accurate from the pocket and has a great deep ball. Perhaps one of his most impressive attributes is his ability to extend plays and throw off the run without losing accuracy.

During the playoff run this past season, he threw for 441 yards and five touchdowns and rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown. He has competed in FBU Top Gun, a national showcase that top athletes are invited to in Florida and also competed in the FBU All-American Game in Naples, Florida in December. He could potentially gain more steam and buzz this spring and summer after what he did on the gridiron as a freshman. He makes the Lions a dangerous team next year, especially after gaining some valuable experience early on in his prep career.

Rankings have yet to come out for the 2027 list, but Harris is a name you may potentially see on the list. He is creating a name for himself not only in Georgia but also nationally.
