Julian Lewis reclassifies to Class of 2025

Carrollton quarterback and the top overall player in the 2026 football recruiting class, Julian “JuJu” Lewis has announced he has reclassified to 2025.

Lewis will have one more year of high school football remaining before he heads to the college level. The star quarterback has been a verbal commit to the University of Southern California since August of 2023, but has offers from almost every major college football program. He still holds offers from Alabama, Georgia, Michigan and Texas.

“Since I was seven years old one of my goals has been to play Division 1 football,” Lewis said in his statement to On3. “Through hard work and sacrifice that goal has become a reality. I have been blessed to have 2 good seasons under Coach Joey King and I have confidence that after this coming season I will be ready to compete at the next level. So after praying and talking with my family, coaches and trainers I will be reclassifying to the class of 2025.”

Lewis, a sophomore this past season, threw for over 3,000 yards, 48 touchdowns and had only two interceptions in his second year of high school football. For his excellent performance throughout this season, Lewis has been recognized for numerous awards such as the 2023-24 Gatorade Georgia Football Player of the Year and the MaxPreps National Sophomore of the Year. The Trojan quarterback was also a nominee for Gatorade National Player of the Year before Florida five-star quarterback commit, DJ Lagway, won the award earlier this month.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound five star out of Carrollton has thrown for 7,200 yards and 96 touchdowns in his two years in the Trojan offense under Joey King. King is known for helping develop current Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback and former Cartersville Hurricane, Trevor Lawrence.

Lewis is rated as the ninth highest overall player after his reclassification to the 2025 class. He is now rated as the second best quarterback in the 2025 recruiting cycle, behind five-star LSU commit and the top player in the class, Bryce Underwood.
