Loganville, Pope showcase power

Clint Frazier blasted a pair of home runs to help Loganville slam Grayson 14-4 Tuesday. The Red Devils received four home runs total, including shots by Daniel Milligan and Logan Mattix. Mattix’s blast was a walk-off grand slam as Loganville reached the run rule in the bottom of the sixth inning. Frazier now has six home runs through Loganville’s first eight games. … Pope hit four home runs to blast past Forsyth Central 11-0 Tuesday. Nate Lowe was responsible for a pair of the home runs while Johnny Flading and Jacob Culberson each went deep. The latter’s shot was a grand slam. Patrick Wiseman struck out 10 in the win which pushed Pope’s record out to 4-3. … Zach Moon hit a home run and later scored the go-ahead run for Brookwood in the Broncos’ 4-3 win over Marist in nine innings. Noah Albury earned the win in relief. … Gainesville rallied with four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to top Mountain View 4-3 Tuesday. Gainesville failed to muster a hit through the first five innings before striking for the winning margin thanks to Peyton Fore and Joey Bell’s late-inning heroics. The Red Elephants beat Central Gwinnett Tuesday as well as Luke Maddox had three hits in the win. … Kennesaw Mountain and South Cobb engaged in a pitchers’ dual Tuesday as Mitchell Hammonds and Nathan Golden each tossed complete games, but Hammonds’ offense provided him with the game’s only run to push the Mustangs to the win. Tyler Adkins scored the game’s lone run after singling, stealing two bases and scoring on a grounder. … Buford notched a 5-1 win over East Hall as starter Jake Higginbotham struck out 10 batters in the victory. The win Wednesday over the Vikings was the second in as many days as the Wolves took out East Hall 11-0 Tuesday.
