Lambert entered the 2013 season having captured the last two A-AAAA GHSA state titles and boasting a 42-game winning streak. The Longhorns saw the streak grow to 43 games before Northview put an end to the streak on Feb. 22. Milton then toppled the Longhorns’ home winning streak, which had reach 35 games dating back to 2010, and Chattahoochee tripped up Lambert again in western Suwanee Tuesday 11-8. Senior Quentin Johnson scored two goals and assisted on three others while his freshman brother Cole led the team with five ground balls. Lucas Sparks notched three goals while juniors Jack Cioffi and Ben Corrigan each contributed two goals. … North Gwinnett blasted Mountain View 19-3 as 13 different Bulldogs scored in the victory. Spencer Howey and Luke Printz each tallied three goals for North Gwinnett. … Katie Verret scored six goals while Lauren Aycock added four as the North Gwinnett girls pulled off the sweep of Mountain View with a 17-4 win Tuesday. … The Milton girls have won seven GHSA titles over the last eight years and currently sit at No. 10 in the National Nike/US Lacrosse poll. The Eagles may be moving up after defeating Florida power Vero Beach, ranked No. 11 nationally, 14-13. Milton rallied from an 11-6 deficit with seven straight goals to pull out the win. Milton’s only loss this season was last Friday when the nation’s No. 1 team McDonogh School (Mary.) held off Milton 11-8. … Mill Creek received a goal from Rachel Gann late in overtime to lift the Hawks to a 14-13 win over Roswell. Tori Windom finished with four goals while Maddie Beck chipped in three for Mill Creek, which improved to 8-1 on the season. … Ali Cole scored eight goals and dished out one assist in Duluth’s 15-6 victory over Parkview Tuesday. Goalkeeper Grace Carnazzo finished with eight saves for Duluth.
