Multiple in-state stars make all-america list

White County’s Spencer Adams (committed to Georgia), ELCA’s Dazmon Cameron (Florida State), Milton’s Dylan Cease (Vandy), Sprayberry’s Michael Chavis (Clemson), Milton’s Dalton Ewing (Clemson), Gainesville’s Michael Gettys (Georgia), Luella’s Bryant Harris (Georgia), Kel Johnson (Georgia Tech), Parkview’s Mac Marshall (LSU), South Gwinnett’s Montrell Marshall (Auburn) and Pope’s Patrick Wiseman (Tech) were each named to the Perfect Game Preseason High School all-american team. One hundred players from the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico were named to the first team. … Holy Innocents’ walloped Mount Vernon 15-0 Tuesday behind a perfect game by brothers Joe and Hugh Chapman. The Golden Bears combined for 19 hits in the game. … Columbia has gotten off to a scorching 12-1 start and beat Lakeside-DeKalb (4-2) and Mays (3-2) last week. Junior Justin Washington drove in three runs against Lakeside including the game-winning two-run single in the fifth. Jaylen Atterberry earned the win with 3.2 innings of relief and five strikeouts. … Stephenson has won eight straight including a 12-3 win over Grady, 18-2 win over Central Gwinnett and a 15-0 victory over Towers last week. … Cedar Grove’s Antwan Jackson tossed a no-hitter with five strikeouts in four innings of work against Clarkston last week. … Three Towers pitchers (Messiah Feagin, Jeremiah Benefield, Dakota Fuelner) tossed combined to toss a no-hitter against Douglass last week. … McNair edged Stone Mountain 12-11 on March 10 behind Shaquille Hickson (seven SBs), Dejerrius Christian (five SBs, one homer). … Allatoona is off to an 8-0 start and has been led by catcher Pete Derkey (.391 BA and 10 RBIs). Derkey drilled a grand slam in an 11-1 win over South Paulding on March 10. … Redan senior 3B/P Miles Fore leads the team with a .385 batting average and 10 hits. He also has six RBIs on the season.
