Top recruits will square off at football camp

The MVP Camp is a football camp that actually features football! This Friday, June 1 at Alpharetta High School, the best players from around the Southeast will take part in a football camp that will truly prepare them for the top college camps across the country. The MVP Camp, created and operated by Scout.com’s Chad Simmons and 247sports.com’s Rusty Mansell, offers more than just the basic 40′s and weights that other camps measure. The MVP Camp focuses on group work and the best 1-on-1 matchups found outside of college camps. Simmons and Mansell created the camp as a way to see how prospects look in real football situations, for example, cornerback on receiver.

Last year the camp featured outstanding performances from Jaquay Williams, Shaq Wiggins, Shamire Devine and Reuben Foster. Jordan Jenkins, Derrick Henry, Brice Ramsey, Eddie Printz, Jr and Geno Smith were some of the other names to take part in last year’s MVP Camp. Williams took home the prize as top overall performer before going on to an incredible senior season with Sandy Creek. Wiggins, meanwhile, earned top underclassman honors and he is scheduled to sign with UGA after his senior season.
