Two Saturday football games went along with the softball and volleyball scores to bring the sports week to a close.
In region football action, Southeast Bulloch took a 9-8 victory in a Region 3-AAA contest over local rival Jenkins in Savannah. Jontrell Wells’ 24-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter proved to be the difference. Southeast Bulloch took a 3-0 lead on a 43-yard field goal from Jonah Jones in the first quarter. In the second quarter, Patrick Blake gave Jenkins the 8-3 lead on a 1-yard run. Ashantae Daniels caught the ensuing pass for a 2-pt. conversion.
Glenn Hills overpowered Josey 39-13 in a Region 4-AA battle. The Spartans relied on rushing touchdowns from four players in the victory. Jmar Wilson’s 32-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter kept the game out of reach.
