Baseball teams across the state were vying for an extra series as the second round of the GHSA Baseball Tournament got underway tonight. Buford swept Decatur 10-2, 5-4 and advance to the Class AAAAA quarterfinals. West Laurens swept Eastside 7-6, 3-2 to earn a quarterfinal berth in Class AAAA. South Gwinnett won Game 2 to force a decisive Game 3 against Mill Creek at 6 p.m. on Friday. In Class AAAAAAA, Lassiter swept Lowndes to advance to the quarterfinals.
