Week 2 Football Rankings

In Class AAAAAAA, Marietta takes over No. 1 after its dominating Week 1 performance over Rome (48-14). The Packers, Parkview, Archer and McEachern round out the top 5. McEachern was previously ranked No. 6 behind North Gwinnett, which dropped to No. 7 following its 17-6 loss to Colquitt County.

In Class AAAAAA, Coffee moved up from No. 6 to No. 5. Previous No. 5 Glynn Academy dropped out of the poll after its 31-6 loss to Fort Dorchester (SC) in its opener and Lanier makes its debut at No. 9.

In Class AAAAA, Bainbridge stays on top after a 47-7 victory over Seminole County. Buford is still No. 2 despite its Corky Kell game against Milton being postponed by weather at Coolray Field on Friday. Warner Robins defeated Tift County 24-10 and moves from No. 4 to No. 3. Carrollton is up from No. 5 to No. 4 and Dutchtown is No. 5 this week. Former No. 3, Rome, fell to No. 7 after losing to Marietta 48-14 in the Corky Kell on Thursday.

Woodward Academy replaces Eastside at No. 7 in Class AAAA after its 19-0 win over Westminster and Eastside’s 58-21 loss to Ola.

Cedar Grove remains on top of the AAA poll after a 26-16 victory over Hapeville Charter. Peach County, which will open its season at Northside-Warner Robins on Saturday, is No. 2. Calhoun moved up from No. 4 to No. 3 after a victory over Ridgeland in the Corky Kell. Westminster fell from No. 3 to No. 8 this week after it was held scoreless against Woodward in a 19-0 loss. Lovett, which defeated Greater Atlanta Christian 30-29 on Friday, moved to No. 4 from un-ranked. GAC fell from No. 5 to No. 9 after the loss.

In Class AA, Rockmart took over the top spot after a 31-12 victory over Cedartown on the road. Dublin moved from No. 3 to No. 2 as former No. 1, Callaway, fell to No. 4. Former No. 2 Hapeville Charter dropped to No. 3 and Fitzgerald slid one spot as well, from No. 4 to No. 5.

ELCA leads Class A-Private ahead of No. 2 Athens Academy again this week. The Chargers defeated Morrow 55-13 on Friday. Darlington is No. 3 again ahead of Prince Avenue Christian and Aquinas again this week.
