Week 3 Boys Soccer Rankings

Walton is the team to beat in the state’s highest classification. The Raiders moved past No. 7 Brookwood 1-0 on March 2 and will face Etowah on March 6. Parkview, Central Gwinnett, Norcross and Berkmar round out the top five.

Cambridge is flawless on the year with seven wins, including a 3-0 victory over Centennial on March 2. Second-ranked Dalton defeated Harrison in commanding fashion on March 2 (7-0) and will face Osborne on March 6. Gainesville, Chattahoochee and Allatoona round out the top five.

In Class AAAAA, defending champion McIntosh has been dominant again this season. The Chiefs recently beat Columbus 2-0 and will face Fayette County on March. 6. Rome, Johnson-Gainesville, Carrollton and Clarkston finish out the top five.

Top-ranked Woodward (7-0-1) and No. 2 Chestatee (8-0-0) both have impressive records thus far and are battling for the lead of Class AAAA. Woodward is coming off a 0-0 tie with Grady. Chestatee is riding momentum from its 4-0 victory over North Hall on March 2.

Defending champion Westminster’s stranglehold on Class AAA continues again this season and, when looking at records, the competition isn’t even close. The Wildcats are flawless with eight wins, the most recent being a 4-0 victory over Stone Mountain. East Hall, the second-ranked team, has five wins and two losses on the year.

Defending champion Benedictine is in the lead of Class AA and is coming off a 10-0 thrashing of Swainsboro. The Cadets will travel to Toombs County on March. 8. No. 2 Jefferson County has only allowed one goal this season and is riding a seven-game winning streak with five shutouts in a row.

Paideia, the No. 1 team in Class A, is coming off a 6-0 victory over Chamblee on Feb. 23 and will face the Weber School on March. 8. No. 2 Whitefield Academy, the defending state champions, fell to Paideia on Feb. 6 but, since the loss, Whitefield has reeled off four wins in a row, including an 11-1 defeat of St. Francis on March 1.
